About Sharon Kantner & Brian Waechter
Sharon Kantner is in her 16th year with Smith & Associates and consistently ranks among the top 1% of all residential agents in Pinellas County. Alongside her business partner, Brian Waechter, she was named the #1 team in the St. Petersburg office of Smith & Associates in 2021, 2022, 2024, and 2025. These achievements reflect their deep market insight, unwavering professionalism, and commitment to exceptional results.
Sharon’s expertise spans St. Petersburg’s most cherished historic neighborhoods, including Old Northeast, Snell Isle, and surrounding communities, as well as the city’s premier and boutique downtown condominium market. She is known for going the extra mile to ensure her clients fully understand the St. Pete real estate market and the complete buying or selling process. Her passion for exceeding expectations consistently leads to referrals, repeat business, and lasting relationships long after closing.
She takes particular care in educating out-of-town buyers about local neighborhoods, community life, churches, and school systems. As a longtime St. Pete and Old Northeast resident, Sharon is deeply proud of the area’s rich history and remains actively involved in the community.
Having lived in a 1920s-era home for more than 25 years, Sharon has developed a deep appreciation for historic homes and architecture. After lovingly restoring and transforming her 1922 Arts and Crafts bungalow, the home was featured twice on the Historic Old Northeast Candlelight Tour of Homes. The renovation thoughtfully blended original character with a carefully designed addition, honoring the integrity and beauty of the Arts and Crafts movement.
Sharon is a member of the Pinellas Realtor Organization and continues to serve the community through volunteer involvement, including the Historic Old Northeast Candlelight Tour of Homes Committee. Outside of real estate, she enjoys playing pickleball and tennis at The Vinoy Club, walking and biking downtown, and spending time with her family. She is proud to have her husband, Rick, a local real estate attorney, by her side, a partnership that proves invaluable when navigating complex transactions.
Raising her daughters in the Old Northeast has given Sharon meaningful insight into schools, local businesses, social connections, and the rhythm of daily life in St. Pete. She believes it is the perfect place to create new memories, cultivate lasting friendships, and truly feel at home.
